UMG Taps Company Vet For Top Counsel

Law360, New York (February 11, 2011, 2:48 PM EST) -- Universal Music Group has promoted Jeffrey Harleston to the post of general counsel, where he will help lead the record company's efforts to tackle the legal challenges of the digital music era.

Harleston will oversee the Santa Monica, Calif.-based record label's business and legal affairs across North America and help coordinate UMG's strategy for its government relations, trade and anti-piracy efforts, UMG President and Chief Operating Officer Zach Horowitz said Thursday.
