Abramoff Lobbyist Sentenced To 20 Months

Law360, New York (February 14, 2011, 1:47 PM EST) -- A federal judge has ordered a key player in the Jack Abramoff lobbying conspiracy to cough up more than $20 million in restitution and spend 20 months in prison, just short of the reduced two-year sentence prosecutors had recommended.

Judge Ellen S. Huvelle handed down Michael Scanlon's sentence in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia on Friday, ordering him to pay $20.2 million in restitution pursuant to his plea deal, with $17.7 million going to Abramoff's former employer, Greenberg Traurig LLP, and $2.5...
