Lawyers Are Big Winners In Shell Settlement

Law360, New York (April 12, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Lawyers reaped a massive $47 million in fees for their work in reaching a historic $456 million payout for Shell shareholders over the 2004 oil reserves scandal.

Four U.S. law firms, including Grant & Eisenhofer PA, will share the windfall with two Dutch firms after negotiating the securities settlement with Royal Dutch Shell PLC on behalf of thousands of investors.

The other U.S. firms are class action firm Schiffrin, Barroway, Topaz & Kessler LLP; Diaz, Reus, Rolff, & Targ LLP and Wilentz Goldman & Spitzer PA....
