WTO Pushes Trade Reform For Japan

Law360, New York (February 15, 2011, 6:21 PM EST) -- A World Trade Organization report on Tuesday urged Japan to liberalize its trade policies as part of a package of broad structural reforms to boost the country's economy.

Despite recognizing the importance of serious reform, Japanese officials have been hesitant to embrace major changes to its trade regime, instead favoring a series of fiscal stimulus packages to weather the global financial crisis, according to the report.
