Health Reform Opt-Out Bill Moves Ahead In Tenn.

Law360, New York (February 15, 2011, 7:21 PM EST) -- A panel of the Tennessee legislature advanced a bill Tuesday that would let state residents opt out of the federal health care reform law, on the heels of recent decisions by federal courts that the law is unconstitutional.

The Tennessee state senate's Committee on Commerce, Labor and Agriculture voted 6-1 to send the bill proposed by Republican state Sen. Mae Beavers to the full senate.
