MillerCoors Hit With IP Suit Over Rewards Program

Law360, New York (February 16, 2011, 12:00 PM EST) -- Carlson Marketing Worldwide Inc. has slammed MillerCoors LLC with a lawsuit alleging the beer giant's customer rewards program infringes a database patent.

Carlson filed its lawsuit Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, saying MillerCoors is infringing a patent it owns entitled “Method of Building Up a Data Bank Containing Customer Data and/or for the Organization of a Rebate or Coupon System.”
