Lawmaker Seeks To Block EPA Waivers For Ethanol Fuel

Law360, New York (February 16, 2011, 3:48 PM EST) -- Rep. John Sullivan, R-Okla., has proposed an amendment that would prohibit the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency from implementing programs that allow newer-model automobiles to use gasoline containing up to 15 percent ethanol.

The congressman on Tuesday introduced the amendment, which would bar the EPA from using federal funds to implement two Clean Air Act exemptions known as the E15 waivers, to a proposed House Appropriations Committee resolution outlining U.S. government spending for the rest of fiscal year 2011.
