Judge Freezes Assets Of 3 Alleged Ponzi Schemers

Law360, New York (February 17, 2011, 7:42 PM EST) -- A federal judge has issued a temporary order freezing the assets of three men accused by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission of running a $35 million foreign currency Ponzi scheme through Black Diamond Capital Solutions LLC and other companies.

Judge Robert J. Conrad Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of North Carolina froze the assets of Keith F. Simmons, Bryan Coats and Jonathan Davey and their companies on Feb. 11 ahead of a Feb. 23 preliminary injunction hearing.
