Lancer Fund Manager Can't Shake $200M Fraud Case

Law360, New York (February 16, 2011, 6:57 PM EST) -- A federal judge on Wednesday rejected a pair of bids by former Lancer Group fund manager Michael Lauer to throw out an indictment implicating him in a $200 million investment scam.

In a brief order, Judge Adalberto Jordan of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida denied Lauer's motions to dismiss the indictment on the basis of prosecutor misconduct and prejudicial preindictment delay.

Judge Jordan did not include the reasoning behind his ruling but said a more detailed opinion would be forthcoming....
