Lawmakers Mull Carbon Emissions Bills

Law360, New York (April 16, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In a bid to address concerns over global warming, the Senate Committee on Energy & Natural Resources on Monday heard testimony on two bipartisan bills that aim to mitigate carbon emissions.

The National Carbon Dioxide Storage Capacity Assessment Act of 2007 (S. 731) requests that the Secretary of the Interior oversee a U.S. Geological Survey study that will conduct a $20 million national assessment of the geological storage capacity for carbon dioxide, or CO2, the committee said.
