NeXedge Sues Freescale Over Memory Chip Patent

Law360, New York (February 18, 2011, 2:10 PM EST) -- NeXedge LLC has sued Freescale Semiconductor Inc. and its spinoff Everspin Technologies Inc., alleging infringement of a patent covering magnetoresistive random access memory chips.

Illinois-based NeXedge filed its complaint Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona, claiming that for six years Freescale and Everspin manufactured and sold MRAM chips that infringe its patent.

NeXedge's patent, U.S. Patent Number 7,205,643, is called "Stray Field Shielding Structure for Semiconductors."
