Ex-Whistleblower Protector Asks To Cancel Guilty Plea

Law360, New York (February 18, 2011, 3:34 PM EST) -- The former head of the federal whistleblower protection office has asked a federal court for permission to withdraw his guilty plea to criminal contempt of Congress, following a ruling that he would have to serve at least one month behind bars.

Scott J. Bloch, who headed up the U.S. Office of Special Counsel under President George W. Bush, filed his motion to withdraw his April 24 misdemeanor guilty plea in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia on Thursday.
