WTO Panel Issues China Raw Material Policy Review

Law360, New York (February 18, 2011, 3:48 PM EST) -- U.S. trade officials said Friday that a World Trade Organization panel had issued its confidential preliminary conclusions in a dispute over China's export restrictions on raw materials, which the panel reportedly ruled violated international trade law.

The WTO panel, which is hearing complaints from the U.S., European Union, Canada, Mexico and other countries challenging China's policies restricting exports of zinc, magnesium, yellow phosphorus and other metals, has concluded its interim report on the dispute, U.S. Trade Representative spokeswoman Nefeterius McPherson said Friday.
