Icahn Offers $1.9B For Mentor Graphics

Law360, New York (February 22, 2011, 6:49 PM EST) -- Software maker Mentor Graphics Corp. confirmed Tuesday that it received an unsolicited bid from activist investor Carl Icahn to buy all of the outstanding shares of the company for approximately $1.9 billion.

The financier, who currently owns about 14.7 percent of shares in the electronic hardware and software design company, has offered to snap up the remaining shares for $17 per share in cash, which amounts to about $1.9 billion total.
