Visa, Danaher Deals Get Early FTC Clearance

Law360 (February 23, 2011, 6:56 PM EST) -- Federal antitrust regulators gave early clearance Tuesday to Visa Inc.'s $190 million deal for technology company PlaySpan Inc. and to Danaher Corp.'s €350 million ($470 million) acquisition of EskoArtwork.

The Federal Trade Commission decided to terminate the review periods for both deals under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act early, the agency said Wednesday.

Visa's all-cash deal, announced Feb. 9, will give the credit card giant control over privately held PlaySpan, a Silicon Valley company specializing in technology that handles payments for digital goods in online games, digital media...
