Ex-Mabey Execs Sentenced In Oil-For-Food Scheme

Law360, New York (February 24, 2011, 5:45 PM EST) -- Three executives of the engineering firm Mabey and Johnson Ltd. were sentenced to prison on Wednesday by a U.K. court for paying kickbacks to the Iraqi government and inflating a contract under the United Nations' Oil-for-Food program.

The U.K. Serious Fraud Office, which prosecuted the case, announced that Judge Geoffrey Rivlin of Southwark Crown Court sentenced former Mabey Managing Director Charles Forsyth to 21 months in prison, while former Sales Director David Mabey received eight months.
