Hamilton Beach Fights Tests Of Alleged Faulty Kettle

Law360, New York (February 24, 2011, 6:30 PM EST) -- Hamilton Beach Brands Inc. sued Cincinnati Insurance Co. on Thursday in Ohio in an effort to block it from destructively testing a tea kettle that may have led to a house fire and leaving the plaintiff unable to adequately test the product.

In a complaint lodged in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, Glen Allen, Va.-based Hamilton Beach seeks an injunction that would prevent the insurer from subjecting the product to testing that would destroy or irreversibly change its physical characteristics....
