Natural Gas Drilling Bills Move Forward In W.Va.

Law360, New York (February 25, 2011, 6:07 PM EST) -- Both chambers of the West Virginia Legislature gave preliminary approval Thursday to several bills that would revamp the rules for natural gas drilling in the Marcellus Shale.

The West Virginia state Senate and House are moving forward with a suite of bills that offer tax credits for horizontal drilling rigs, increase permit fees for drilling, secure rights for property owners and address environmental issues pertaining to water usage.
