IBM Didn't Infringe Data Encryption IP, Judge Rules

Law360, New York (February 25, 2011, 7:25 PM EST) -- A federal judge in Virginia ruled Friday that IBM Corp. did not infringe six data encryption patents held by TecSec Inc., which was seeking more than $530 million in damages.

Judge Leonie M. Brinkema of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia granted IBM's motion for summary judgment of noninfringement, but said that her reasoning would be explained in a forthcoming memorandum.
