Novozymes Wins $15M From Danish Rival

Law360, New York (April 17, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Danisco A/S has agreed to pay rival Danish biotech company Novozymes A/S $15.3 million to settle charges that it infringed a patent for the enzyme Spezyme Ethyl, which is used in ethanol production.

The damage payment for patent infringement was $8.2 million while the remaining money came from such things as prejudgment interest and legal costs, the two companies said Tuesday.
