Merck-Sanofi Animal Health Joint Venture Delayed

Law360, New York (February 28, 2011, 8:34 PM EST) -- Merck & Co. said Monday in a regulatory filing that its planned animal health joint venture with Sanofi-Aventis SA has been delayed until the third quarter of 2011due to a continued antitrust review.

The joint venture, announced in March 2010, would create the largest seller of animal medicines in the world, according to the two companies, which had expected the deal to be completed within one year of its announcement.
