US Ordered To Act On ATP Drilling Permits

Law360 (March 2, 2011, 2:58 PM EST) -- The federal judge in Louisiana who sank the U.S.' initial deepwater drilling ban last year ordered government officials Tuesday to take action on two ATP Oil & Gas Corp. drilling permit applications, citing improper delays.

Judge Martin L.C. Feldman of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana directed the U.S. Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement to act on those pending applications within 30 days, supplementing a Feb. 17 preliminary injunction requiring the agency to take action...
