Shot-Show Defendant Cops To FCPA Violations

Law360, New York (March 2, 2011, 5:48 PM EST) -- The U.S. government netted a guilty plea Tuesday in Washington in the high-profile Shot-Show case, in which 22 defendants have been charged in connection with a scheme to bribe overseas officials for military gear and weapons contracts.

Daniel Alvirez pled guilty in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia to conspiracy to violate the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.

The sweeping case marked the most extensive use of undercover sting tactics in a foreign bribery case when the allegations were unveiled in 2010.
