Conn. Bill Would Set Up Complex M&A Docket

Law360, New York (March 3, 2011, 7:22 PM EST) -- A bill introduced Wednesday in the Connecticut Legislature would establish a special docket to handle complex transactional matters, in a bid to attract private equity firms and other sophisticated litigants who might otherwise try their cases in states like Delaware.

Under H.B. 6497, the state's chief court administrator would be charged with setting up a corporate, securities and transactional matters docket in one or more state courts. Judges assigned to the special court would be required to have specific expertise in complex securities and transactional matters....
