Ark. High Court Knocks Down Gas Lease Challenge

Law360, New York (March 3, 2011, 4:39 PM EST) -- The Arkansas Supreme Court on Thursday upheld the dismissal of a lawsuit challenging a $32 million deal under which the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission created gas leases with private companies for mineral exploration on agency land, allegedly endangering wildlife habitat.

In a ruling Thursday, the high court said the Arkansas Circuit Court for Pulaski County was right to throw out plaintiff James Dockery's complaint because it was “factually and legally deficient.”
