Russian Watchdog Targets Alcoa Over Price Hikes

Law360, New York (March 3, 2011, 6:06 PM EST) -- Russia's antitrust watchdog has determined Alcoa Inc.'s Russian unit abused its dominant position in the aluminum marketplace by unlawfully raising the prices of aluminum sheet products used by the country's military.

Alcoa Metallurg Rus increased its prices for sheets made from AMG6M aluminum alloy by 119 percent in 2009, while comparable products went up only by 53 percent, the Federal Antimonopoly Service announced in a statement Thursday.
