Miss. HR Manager Avoids Prison Over Immigration Raid

Law360, New York (March 3, 2011, 7:45 PM EST) -- The former human resources manager of industrial manufacturer Howard Industries Inc. was sentenced Thursday in Mississippi to six months' home confinement for hiring hundreds of undocumented workers detained in the largest workplace immigration raid in U.S. history.

In December 2009, Jose Humberto Gonzalez pled guilty in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi to a conspiracy to harbor illegal aliens. He was not imprisoned while awaiting sentencing.
