Appleton, NCR Told To Share $700M PCB Cleanup Cost

Law360 (March 3, 2011, 9:41 PM EST) -- A federal judge in Wisconsin has ruled that Appleton Papers Inc. and NCR Corp. should share responsibility for the estimated $700 million cleanup of the polychlorinated biphenyl-polluted Lower Fox River, the nation’s biggest Superfund site.

Judge William C. Griesbach of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin ruled that a litany of defendants in the case — including Menasha Corp. and P.H. Glatfelter Co. — were entitled to reimbursement from the companies for costs they incurred during cleanup.
