Ex-Amkor Attorney Charged With Insider Trading

Law360, New York (April 18, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Wednesday charged a former attorney and executive at Amkor Technology Inc. with insider trading, the very act he was in responsible for cracking down on, in a scheme that earned him $290,000 over 10 months.

Kevin Heron, the company’s ex-general counsel, corporate secretary and chief insider trading compliance officer, made more than 50 illegal trades of Amkor stock and options between October 2003 and June 2004, the SEC alleged.
