Ford Hits Brakes On Ferrari F150 Trademark Suit

Law360, New York (March 4, 2011, 1:18 PM EST) -- Ford Motor Co. withdrew a trademark suit in Michigan on Thursday after Ferrari SpA agreed to stop using an F150 designation, which Ford claimed was too similar to its F-150 trucks, to describe a new race car.

Ford filed a notice of voluntary dismissal in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. Settlement terms, if any, were not disclosed, though Ferrari agreed to stop using the F150 designation a day after Ford filed the suit Feb. 9.
