Garlock Loses Bid For Details Of Asbestos Deals

Law360, New York (March 4, 2011, 7:40 PM EST) -- A bankruptcy judge in North Carolina on Friday denied Garlock Sealing Technologies LLC's bid to force attorneys who represent thousands of asbestos claimants to disclose how much money their clients recovered in settlements from a host of mesothelioma-related suits.

Judge George R. Hodges of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of North Carolina flatly rejected Garlock's request as an "unprecedented intrusion into attorneys' practices and files."
