Interior Department Appeals Drilling Permit Orders

Law360 (March 7, 2011, 8:01 PM EST) -- The U.S. Department of the Interior on Friday appealed rulings by a Louisiana judge ordering the government to take action on several pending deepwater drilling permit applications by Ensco Offshore Co. and ATP Oil & Gas Corp.

Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar notified Judge Martin L.C. Feldman of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana that he was appealing the rulings, and moved for a stay of the orders pending the appeal.
