House GOP Introduces Anti-Card Check Bill

Law360, New York (March 10, 2011, 5:57 PM EST) -- U.S. House Republicans introduced a bill Wednesday that would amend the National Labor Relations Act to expressly prohibit the simplified form of union formation known as card check, championed largely by Democrats.

The Secret Ballot Protection Act, introduced by Rep. Phil Roe, R-Tenn., and 19 co-sponsors, would put language in the NLRA expressly prohibiting companies from negotiating with unions that had not been chosen by their members through a secret ballot election.
