5th Circ. Upholds Seacor's $3M Katrina Damages Award

Law360, New York (March 10, 2011, 6:34 PM EST) -- The Fifth Circuit on Thursday shot down Commonwealth Insurance Co.'s challenge to a Louisiana court's order granting oil and gas transport company Seacor Holdings Inc. $3.2 million for damages stemming from hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

A three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit upheld the lower court's decision handing Seacor Holdings Inc. partial summary judgment on the question of which deductibles in Commonwealth's policy applied to the storm-related claims.
