Sierra Club Sues DOE Over Miss. Power Plant Funds

Law360, New York (March 11, 2011, 3:00 PM EST) -- The Sierra Club filed suit against the U.S. Department of Energy in Washington on Thursday, again seeking to derail a coal-fired power plant project in Kemper County, Miss.

In a complaint in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia the environmental group accused the DOE of violating the National Environmental Policy Act when it awarded federal funding to Southern Co. subsidiary Mississippi Power Co. for the project.
