NZ Court Backs Antitrust Watchdog In Gag Order Case

Law360, New York (March 11, 2011, 5:16 PM EST) -- New Zealand's antitrust watchdog can bar witnesses in a cartel case from disclosing what they discussed with investigators during official interviews, an appeals court ruled Thursday in rejecting a challenge from Air New Zealand Ltd.

The country's Court of Appeal found that the New Zealand Commerce Commission did not exceed its statutory authority in barring the airline's staff from talking about the regulator's line of questioning during its investigation of the air cargo cartel.
