Ex-Abramoff Aide Denied New Trial In Bribery Case

Law360, New York (March 11, 2011, 8:18 PM EST) -- A federal judge in Washington refused Friday to grant a new trial for Jack Abramoff associate Kevin Ring, who was convicted in November of bribing public officials with meals, trips and other gifts.

In an order filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, Judge Ellen Segal Huvelle denied Ring's motions for a judgment of acquittal and for a new trial, saying the government had shown enough evidence that a reasonable jury could conclude that Ring was involved in a bribery scheme....
