ITC Shuts Down Norgren Compressed Air Probe

Law360, New York (March 14, 2011, 3:52 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission last week determined that SMC Corp. did not infringe Norgren Inc.'s patent for devices used in compressed air systems because the patent was invalid due to obviousness, according to a notice in the Federal Register on Monday.

The ITC on March 8 reversed an administrative law judge's initial determination on remand and terminated its investigation, finding no violation of Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 because the asserted patent claims were invalid, the notice said.
