AstraZeneca Says SC Seroquel Suit Is Money Grab

Law360, New York (March 14, 2011, 8:04 PM EDT) -- AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals LP sued the South Carolina attorney general on Monday alleging his suit over the drugmaker's anti-psychotic Seroquel is an orchestrated plan to collect unconstitutional contingency fees for his office and three private law firms.

AstraZeneca filed a complaint in the Court of Common Pleas in Spartanburg County, S.C., alleging state Attorney General Alan Wilson violated the company's due process rights under the state and U.S. constitutions by hiring financially interested attorneys to oversee the case.
