Ex-Alaska Lawmaker Cuts Plea Deal In Corruption Case

Law360, New York (March 14, 2011, 8:05 PM EDT) -- Prosecutors on Friday reportedly agreed to drop felony corruption charges against a former Alaska state legislator under indictment for extortion, fraud and bribery in exchange for his guilty plea on a misdemeanor count of working with unregistered lobbyists.

State Rep. Bruce Weyhrauch, a Republican representing Juneau, Alaska, from 2002 to 2006, agreed to plead guilty in the U.S. District Court for the District of Alaska to one count of aiding and abetting unregistered lobbyists, the Anchorage Daily News reported Sunday.
