Importer Blasts Bid For Duties On Asian Sleeping Bags

Law360, New York (March 16, 2011, 8:05 PM EDT) -- Cellcorp Global Ltd., a U.S. importer of nondown sleeping bags, is challenging a rival’s request that the Obama administration permanently revoke duty-free treatment of sleeping bag imports manufactured in Bangladesh on the grounds that the move will harm U.S. manufacturers.

In written comments filed Monday with the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, Cellcorp President Mark Harris said China will be the only beneficiary if duty-free benefits continue to be denied to imported sleeping bags made in Bangladesh.
