SEC To File Action Against Ex-Apple Lawyer: Source

Law360, New York (April 23, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is expected to initiate its first legal action in the Apple stock options backdating investigation against the company’s former general counsel.

The SEC is planning to file its case against Nancy Heinen this week, according to a source. The former general counsel’s attorneys said Monday they will dispute the SEC’s allegations, claiming that Heinen has emerged as a scapegoat in a federal review that has drawn heightened attention because it deals with the computer giant and its CEO, Steve Jobs....
