Amgen Exec's Spouse Settles Fraud Charge

Law360 (April 23, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The husband of an Amgen Inc. vice president has settled charges brought by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission alleging he used information he gleaned from his wife to buy stock in another company.

The suit, which was filed and settled Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, accused Gary K. Melton of securities fraud. He settled the suit by paying about $30,000.

Melton didn’t admit any wrongdoing in settling the suit.
