Kraft, Unilever Fined In €38M German Antitrust Probe

Law360, New York (March 17, 2011, 1:26 PM EDT) -- Germany's antitrust watchdog on Thursday fined three consumer goods manufacturers, including local units of Kraft Foods Inc. and Unilever PLC, about €38 million ($53 million) for sharing sensitive business information.

The German Federal Cartel Office sanctioned Kraft Foods Deutschland AG, Unilever Deutschland Holding AG and Dr. August Oetker Nahrungsmittel KG for exchanging information about their sales negotiations with retailers, as well as other data with several other consumer goods companies.
