SEC Files Charges Against Two Ex-Apple Execs

Law360, New York (April 24, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has filed a civil lawsuit against the former general counsel at Apple Inc. over her alleged role in backdating stock options, and the computer maker’s former chief financial officer has reached a settlement with the agency on similar charges.

The SEC said Tuesday it had accused former general counsel Nancy R. Heinen of engaging in fraudulent backdating of options to Apple CEO Steve Jobs and to senior officers that led Apple to underreport its expenses by nearly $40 million....
