No Discovery For Scruggs Son In Bribery Plea Hearing

Law360, New York (March 17, 2011, 8:04 PM EDT) -- A Mississippi federal judge on Wednesday again refused to grant discovery to the son of attorney Richard “Dickie” Scruggs before a hearing regarding his bid to vacate a guilty plea in the same bribery scandal that felled his father.

Judge Neal B. Biggers of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi rejected David Zachary Scruggs’ second attempt to take discovery from prosecutors and clarify new and potentially exculpatory information underlying his 2008 guilty plea.
