Putin Urges Cabinet, Duma to Step Up Anti-Piracy Action

Law360, New York (November 3, 2003, 12:00 AM EST) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday urged his cabinet and lawmakers to step up action against video and music piracy, the St. Petersburg Times reported.

"I'm asking the Cabinet together with lawmakers in the State Duma to continue working to perfect legislation directed at strengthening the fight against piracy in the sphere of intellectual property rights," Putin said at the cabinet session, according to the newspaper.
