EU Sets 73% Duties On Chinese Tile Imports

Law360, New York (March 17, 2011, 7:42 PM EDT) -- A European Union trade regulator on Wednesday imposed preliminary anti-dumping duties of up to 73 percent on ceramic tiles imported from China.

The EU ceramic tile industry has deteriorated as a result of less expensive Chinese imports being dumped on the market, necessitating the provisional duties, the European Commission said in the Official Journal of the European Union.

Chinese exporters that cooperated with the investigation received duty rates of between 26.2 percent and 36.6 percent. The EU is currently soliciting comments before it finalizes the duties....
