Worker Lands $25M Verdict In Exxon Asbestos Suit

Law360 (March 17, 2011, 8:56 PM EDT) -- A Virginia jury on Thursday reportedly awarded a former shipyard worker $25 million in damages in an asbestos suit against Exxon Mobil Corp., in one of the state’s largest personal injury jury verdicts.

Jurors in the Seventh Judicial Circuit of Virginia handed down $12 million in compensatory damages, $12.5 million in punitive damages and more than $450,000 in medical expenses to Rubert Minton, according to the Daily Press in Newport News, Virginia.
