USTR Moves Toward Removing Taiwan From "301" IPR Watch List

Law360, New York (October 6, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Trade Representative is taking tentative steps aimed at removing Taiwan from its "Special 301 Priority Watch List" of intellectual property violators, according to local news reports.

The US trade office is expected to issue a public notice seeking the public's comments on whether it should remove Taiwan from Washington's "Special 301" priority watch list, a trade office spokesman told Taiwanese newspapers.

The notice will appear in the Federal Register as part of the agency's so-called "out-of-cycle review" of Taiwan's status under the trade law....
